Plas Mawr, Conwy

conwy plas mawr-1424

Plas Mawr Elizabethan Townhouse, Conwy, was built between 1576 and 1585 at the heart of the medieval town’s narrow cobbled streets. It is probably the best-preserved Elizabethan townhouse in Britain. The interior, with its elaborately decorated plaster ceilings and fine wooden screens, reflects the wealth and opulence of the Tudor gentry in Wales.

Come Fly With Me

“Adain Avion is a mobile art space created from the fuselage of a DC-9 airplane, discovered and transformed by Spanish sculptor and designer Eduardo Cajal. Welsh artist Marc Rees (pictured – centre) will celebrate its twentieth anniversary by bringing Avion to Wales in the summer of 2012.”

Caernarfon Castle

“A brute of a fortress. Caernarfon Castle’s pumped-up appearance is unashamedly muscle-bound and intimidating. Picking a fight with this massive structure would have been a daunting prospect. By throwing his weight around in stone, King Edward I created what is surely one of the most impressive of Wales’s castles.” www.caernarfon-castle.co.uk/
