Hafodunos Clock Tower

“Even a stopped clock is right twice a day” Withnail & I, 1987

Looking up at the ruined clock tower of Hafodunos.

Another look at some of the photos of Hafodunos I took back in 2008. This Grade I Listed Gothic mansion was designed by one of the most eminent architects of the Victorian era, Sir George Gilbert Scott and was destroyed by fire in 2004. It is currently being restored. Photo from May 2008.

Lost Mansion of Baron Hill

The once vast mansion of Baron Hill has lain undisturbed in the woodlands outside Beaumaris since the end of the Second World War. Over the years, nature has gently reclaimed the once grand Neo-Palladian buildings and carefully manicured gardens, leaving only vestiges of the former glory visible. There are plans in the offing to renovate this property into 43 apartments. A full 102 Photo Tour of the Mansion & Gardens can be found on my Flickr account here.
